Midview boys place fourth and girls take sixth at Shipweck Track and Field Invitational
Midview Varsity Track and Field hosted its annual 12-team Shipwreck Invitational under rainy conditions Friday (April 10) inside Adelsberg Stadium. The Middie boys placed fourth with 65 points, while the girls took sixth with 68 points. Keystone High School won the boys competition with 141 points, while Valley Forge High School took the girls title with 102 points.
Midview junior thrower Jeffrey Wirth was voted the Boys Most Valuable Athlete of the meet after breaking a pair of meet records. Wirth won the Shot Put with a mark of 57-04.50 and the Discus Throw with a mark of 151-03. Valley Forge senior standout Neveah Hall was selected the Girls Most Valuable Athlete. She broke her own meet record in winning the 100m Dash (12.31) while also placing first in the 200m Dash (25.85) and Long Jump (16-06.00) and helping her team finish runner-up in the 4x200m Relay (1:51.55).
Midview opened the day with a win in the Girls 4x800m Relay. Sophomore Leila Morgan, junior Madelyn Czellath, sophomore Cadence Dellisanti and sophomore Molly Ockuly finished in 11:03.79. Senior Isabel Geyer took home the title in the Shot Put with a meet record 37-07.00 performance while also winning the Discus Throw with a top mark of 100-06.
The Middies are back in action Wednesday (April 15) when they host North Ridgeville High School in a Southwestern Conference dual that begins at 4:30 p.m.
