Midview Girls Swimming takes 9th at season-opening Hilltopper Invitational
Midview Varsity Girls Swimming opened its 2025-26 campaign by taking ninth place at the Chardon High School Hilltopper Invitational Saturday (November 29) afternoon.
A year ago, the Middies were a one-woman force in the water, as then-junior Reagan Henely raced her way to a pair of top-25 performances at the OHSAA Championship. This season, Henely returns with the goal of moving up those standings and has a talented teammate in freshman Alyson Weber to help carry the Midview banner in the pool. The duo will once again race alongside Avon High School again this winter.
Henely competed in three events at the Hilltopper Invite. She placed fourth in the 50 Yard Butterfly (29.14), fifth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:14.52) and sixth in the 100 Yard Individual Medley (1:06.69).
Weber exploded onto the interscholastic scene with a first place finish in the 50 Yard Backstroke (28.89) and 100 Yard Backstroke (1:02.46) while also taking fifth in he 100 Yard Freestyle (58.05).
Together, the Midddies collected 118.5 points to defeat 20 other schools, mostly with many more swimmers.
The Middies are quickly back in the pool Tuesday (December 2) when they compete against host Berea-Midpark High School at Berea-Midpark Middle School. The Southwestern Conference action begins at 6 p.m.
