Midview Softball tops Firelands in rain-shortened game
Midview Varsity Softball and host Firelands High School attempted to beat the incoming storm on Tuesday (March 31) with a non-conference game.
The Middies jumped out to a 9-0 lead after two innings before the rain forced the game to be called. Since Midview led by such a wide margin, the teams agreed to call it a complete game.
Junior Savannah Holcomb three two scoreless innings to get the win.
Junior Savannah Presser led the offense with a pair of hits, including a RBI double in the first. Sophomore Jillian Vandersluis had a key two-run double as part of an eight-run second. Only one run in that inning was earned.
The Middies (2-2) will visit Keystone High School on April 1 at 5 p.m.
