Midview Softball defeats Olmsted Falls 8-2

Midview Varsity Softball defeated visiting Olmsted Falls High School 8-2 in Southwestern Conference action Tuesday (April 29) evening.

Sophomore Savannah Holcomb (5-8) earned the win with seven strong innings. She allowed two runs (one earned) on 9 hits with 11 strikeouts.

Just like Monday, the Middie offense was hot early. Junior Nina Ballachino had a two-run single in the first. Four straight hits produced five runs in the second. Junior Olivia Keenan had a RBI single. Sophomore Savannah Presser followed with a RBI double. Ballachino drove in two with a single. Freshman Jillian Vandersluis then hit a RBI single.

The Bulldogs scored single runs in the fifth and sixth, but the Middies added an insurance run with a Keenan triple in the bottom of the sixth to seal the win.

Holcomb, Keenan and Ballachino all had two hits in the victory.

Midview (6-8, 5-7 SWC) is slated to host Solon High School on Thursday (May 1) at 5 p.m.
