Midview Baseball tops Lutheran West 8-0

Midview Varsity Baseball defeated visiting Lutheran West High School 8-0 in non-league action Friday (May 15) night under the new MHS turf lights. 

The Middies out-hit the Longhorns 13-4 in the game. Senior Kaiden Vogelpohl once again paced the offense with three hits, all doubles, and 2 RBI in four at-bats. Senior Brayden Widenmeyer added a 3-for-3 and 3-RBI performance, while senior Damien Presser collect two more hits in win.

Midview took control early with a three-run first inning. The Middies added a run in the third and capped the scoring by plating four more in the fifth. 

Junior Luke Jockel, meanwhile, kept Lutheran West off balanced all night to earn the win on the mound. Jockel (3-3) scattered four hits and four walks while striking out five.

The Middies (11-14) wrap up the regular season at home on Tuesday (May 19) when Nordonia High School visits for a non-conference game at 5 p.m.
