Yates places runner-up at OHSAA Division II Sectional Tournament

Midview Girls Tennis senior standout Katarina Yates finished runner-up at the 2024 OHSAA Division II Stongsville Sectional Tournament Saturday (October 5) morning.

Yates, the two-seed, opened the morning with a straight-set victory over third-seeded Elizabeth Chen from Hathaway Brown High School to reach the final. Unfortunately, she suffered her first loss of the year 6-2, 6-3 to top-seeded Abigail Lynch from Gilmour Academy.

Yates (28-1), however, still advances to the OHSAA Division II District Tournament, which begins Thursday (October 10) at Springside Athletic Club in Akron at 9 a.m. The top 4 finishers at the event will qualify for the 2024 OHSAA State Tournament October 17-19 at the College of Wooster.
