Midview Girls Soccer defeats Holy Name 4-0 in Sectional Final

No. 32-seeded Midview Varsity Girls Soccer defeated host No. 28-seeded Holy Name High School 4-1 in an OHSAA Division III Sectional Final on Thursday (October 16) at Brooklyn High School. The victory secured the Middies' first sectional title since 2016 and advanced them to a District Semifinal at No. 2 seeded Bay High School on Tuesday (October 21) at 7 p.m.

Four different Middies scored on a night when they set a season-high for goals scored in a game. Sophomore Adriana Loera, sophomore Hannah Bacskay, senior Rachael Anderson and sophomore Jillian Vandersluis all found the back of the net. Bacskay also added two assists, while junior Audrey Gerber contributed one in the win.

Midview will enter its match-up with Bay 5-11-2 on the season.
