DiFranco wins and Midview Girls Golf places third at SWC Tournament

Midview senior Leah DiFranco captured individual medalist honors while leading the Varsity Girls Golf team to a third place finish at the 2025 Southwestern Conference Tournament Monday (September 15) at Big Met Golf Course.

DiFranco, who finished sixth a year ago, shot a six-over par 79 to win by 8 strokes over the nearest two competitors. She is the first Middie—boy or girl—to ever win a SWC Golf Tournament Championship!

Senior Nina Ballachino tied for 11th place with a 98, while sophomore Sophia Morgan was right behind her in the standings with a 99. Senior Olivia Keenan finished with a 11 to help the Middies score a 387. 

Avon High School won the tournament with a 364, while Avon Lake High School finished runner-up with a 365. Olmsted Falls took fourth with a 393.

Midview plays host to Elyria Catholic High School on Wednesday (September 17) at 3:30 p.m.
