Midview Seeks Head Ice Hockey Coach
Midview High School is looking for a veteran coach to lead the reestablishment of its Ice Hockey program for the 2026-27 school year. [Apply Today]
The Middies had a very successful program until low participation numbers forced it to go dormant after the 2018-19 season. The local ice hockey community now feels there is sufficient interest to bring it back as a sustainable sport offering within the Midview athletic department.
To help with the return to the ice, Midview needs a coach with experience in interscholastic ice hockey and the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League (GCHSHL). This individual would take the lead in finalizing the details of practices and games for the 2026-27 season. Candidates must apply online and include a cover letter, three professional references and a 12-month program plan in their application.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) allows schools in this position to have a three-day tryout in the spring (April 15 - May 30) to determine whether they have the necessary numbers to proceed the following winter. A supplemental tryout for any additional players interested would also take place at the start of the 2026-27 season in late October.
It is important to note that the head coach's contract is contingent upon having enough participants to field a team. There is also one paid assistant contract that would be posted later in the supplemental process.
