Midview Girls Flag Football Caps Perfect Season, Heads to State Playoffs
The Midview High School Girls Flag Football team has made history in its inaugural season, completing a perfect 10-0 record and capturing first place in the Orange Division of the Western Conference. The team dominated opponents on both sides of the ball, amassing an impressive 284-51 scoring advantage.
By securing the Orange Division title, Midview earned one of 11 automatic bids to the fifth annual Browns Championship, which serves as the north regional. Five additional at-large teams round out the regional playoff bracket. Midview girls' now stand among the final 32 teams remaining from an original field of more than 162 programs across the state of Ohio. They will open the single-elimination tournament May 11 against Westerville North High School at 6 p.m. All of the action takes place at the University of Akron.
The top four teams from the regional tournament will then compete for the State Championship alongside the winners from the Cincinnati Bengals region. That will take place at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton begining at Noon on Saturday (May 16).
