Midview Football to open 2025 campaign at Westlake

Who: Midview High School (0-0, 0-0 SWC) and Westlake High School (0-0, 0-0 CWC)

What: Week 1 OHSAA Non-Conference Varsity Football Game

Where: UH St. John Medical Center Stadium (27830 Hilliard Blvd, Westlake, Ohio  44145)

When: Kickoff is Friday (August 22) at 7 p.m.

Tickets: Adult tickets are $8 and can be purchased online at https://gofan.co/event/4012910?schoolId=OH2630A or via cash at the gate. Student (K-12) tickets are cash only and $6 at the gate. In addition, senior citizens (60+) can purchase $5 tickets via cash at the gate. Children under 5 are free.

Haltime Performance: The Midview High School Marching Blue will perform first followed by the Westlake High School marching band.

Last Meeting: The Middies opened the 2024 season with a 34-14 rout of visiting Westlake on August 23, 2024. Then junior Marcus McMahon scored Midview's first touchdown with a one-yard run and finished with 10 carries for 71 yards, while then junior Shay Williams ran for 82 yards and also threw a TD pass. Then junior Brayden Homoki led the defense with 16 total stops in the win.

2024 Records: Midview finished 5-6 overall and 2-5 in the Southwestern Conference, while Westlake went 2-8 overall and 0-7 in the Cleveland West Conference. The Middies lost 31-14 at Padua Franciscan High School in the first round of the OHSAA Division III Playoffs.

Midview Head Coach: Head Coach Jack Armstrong is 9-13 as he enters his third season leading the Middies. Armstrong, a 2012 graduate of Midview High School, is a Special Education Coordinator at his alma mater and had served as a varsity assistant coach with the Middies for six of the previous seven seasons before taking over. He is the just the eighth coach in program history, which dates back to the consolidation of Belden, Eaton and Grafton high schools in 1955.

Westlake Head Coach: Head Coach Logan Yantek starts his second season with the Demons after previously serving as their offensive coordinator. His record at Westlake is 2-8.

Midview Returning Lettermen: Midview returns 19 letterwinners from a year ago, including a trio of two-year lettermen in Brayden HomokiLeo Swirynsky and Zachary Wallace
