Bob Krosky was Midviews’ first three sport star. Bob entered Midview as a sophomore. Already 6’4” and 200 lbs., he was a regular on a front line that averaged 6’4” for Coach Kubuski’s basketball team. He averaged 12 points per game and was a strong rebounder. The following year, the Middies were 16 and 3 with Bob being the big man in the Middle. At then, 6’5” and 225 lbs. he was a real force on the boards and averaged 17 points per game. Although missing the first four games of his senior year, because of a nagging football injury, Bob made a big impact upon his return; blocking shots, rebounding and scoring at a 16 point per game pace. He pulled down 23 rebounds in a game against Avon Lake while averaging 12 per game that year.

Bob was an end on the football team and played on both sides of the ball. He was All conference and lined up with 6’5”, 230 lb. Don Lee on the right side of the Middies’ line on offense to form one of the biggest tackle/end tandems in the area.

Baseball was Bob’s first love. He was the “ace” of the Middie staff, for three years. The big left hander was a student of the game and he played organized ball during the summers and was on the pitching staff of the “Erhart Kramers”, one of the best amateur baseball teams around at that time.

Bob went to Ohio Wesleyan and started two years on the football team and basketball teams and four years on the baseball team. After graduation, he began a teaching and coaching career that started in Elyria. He was the Athletic Director and head basketball coach at Brunswick High School when he succumbed to Leukemia in 1977 at the age of 37. A fine athlete, Bob Krosky was an even finer person.

Bob Krosky is survived by his sons, Tom, Bob and Michael (deceased) and his widow, Marcia (Bob) Bastik.
